My First Triathlon

OK, it was technically a Sprint Triathlon (.25m swim, 11.5m bike, 3.1m run) and not an Olympic Triathlon (.9m swim, 23m bike, 6.2m run) but it still felt good to do it!  It was the Issaquah Triathlon.  I actually couldn't believe my time (01:20:19.5)  I really suck at free-style (front crawl) so I just did my usual ***-stroke for the swim.  Funny thing is I think it really helped because I left the water feeling quite refreshed!  I wore a wet suite for the swim, but I actually think it was overkill as the water temp really wasn't bad at all.  Must be all that scuba diving in New England waters raising my definition of what constitutes cold water.  The transitions were interesting; getting all your gear ready so that you can throw your cycling shoes or running shoes on is quite a trick.  My times were 2 -3 minutes; the winners were doing it in 40 seconds.  Anyway, I cached some of the photographs which are available at FotoJack.com.  Search for bib #490.
